One hire can change the whole story of a company.

It works both ways. The right person walks in and suddenly the team is sharper, the numbers start moving, and people actually like coming to work again. The wrong person walks in and it can take a year to undo.

That's why TheCollective exists. A hire that big deserves somebody who actually understands the role, actually knows the people, and whose word means something on both sides of the table.

Not a recruitment agency. Not a resume shop. A headhunter who goes and gets people.

The part nobody talks about.

Anybody with a laptop can build a list of names. That's not the hard part anymore. The hard part is getting the right person to reply, take the call seriously, and genuinely consider doing something different with their life. That takes persuasion, credibility and timing, and you only get to make that call if you've earned the right to.

That's the whole job. And it's the one part of this business I will never hand off. If my name's on the search, I'm the one on the phone.

Relationships don't start with a job opening.

I get to know good people long before there's a role for them, and I stay close long after they've landed. I give honest advice when there's nothing in it for me. Because at the end of the day, the best hires still travel through people, and I happen to know a lot of the right ones.

I'm a generalist on purpose. Operations, sales, marketing, business development, product, technology, customer success, go-to-market and revenue leadership, Chief of Staff, from individual contributors to the C-suite. Across technology, enterprise software, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, data and digital experience, the phone book is deep and almost entirely US-based. What I don't touch is accounting and finance, software engineering and general admin. Everything else is fair game.

The domain says .ventures, but I'm not a venture capital firm. I don't invest money, take equity, or manage a fund. I find the people who build the companies.
